3rd June – Club Langley (a-f)
A bit of a disappointing result at the weekend as we really did deserve to come away with a little more than we did but the result notwithstanding the boys played very well and kept their heads up and remained positive until the end.
I am very quietly confident for next season as our fitness level and work rate was there in abundance. It was always going to be a difficult match with regular players missing against a side full of academy players but i think we still more than held our own. We definitely got stronger as the match went on so it’s going to be really exciting when we do actually start playing twenty minute a side matches in the future.
Great to see James Penn’s rich vein of form from training carry through to the matches and Harry Diamond’s persistent hard work for the team really giving Langley a problem. Also nice to see D’Armando pounding their goal. We will have better luck next time. I have also got plenty of ideas up my sleeve so that too cannot be a bad thing.
Thanks again to George Penn for helping us out (as always), a star in the making.
Training will start a little earlier on Thursday at 5.30pm – 6.45pm and we have a Tournament on Saturday so there will obviously be no training on that day. There will no match on Sunday.
