PWFC confirmed as Guinness World Record Holders

Sun 22nd Apr – Long Lane Tigers (a)

A good week for the Kingfishers as we played PWFC Rooks U8s on Thursday in a really good game of football. The boys played ever so well not even considering they were playing a year above their own age group. Their strength of character and determination was really something. The passing and attacking was great to watch and a huge improvement on when we played them last time. The result was nice but i am even happier with the way we played. Well done guys.

On Sunday, we played Long Lane Tigers in a very interesting game until things started to go our way which was good as it kept us on our toes and tried to make us play good football which is how we want it and exactly what we did. Great patience boys. However, once things did start to go our way we still tried to play good football but still not as much we could have done. Move of the day was a four man passing combination that really impressed and gave me a great deal of confidence for the summer tournaments and U8s.

Great strike from James Penn to open the scoring and ease the pressure on the team, lovely run from Connor Dill from his own half of the pitch to score (that is serious determination – you did say you wanted to score as well) and a big congratulation to Mr Reggie Rye on his first goal for the team from a free kick, lovely strike Reggie, well done, hope its the first of many and I hope you enjoy your £10 from your dad.

Really good job guys. Well done the whole team.

Man Of The Match: Freddie Thomas – Great goalkeeping Freddie, very little to do but what you did have to do you did well, your determination is exactly what we need in goal. Well done, keep it up.

Player Of The Week: Connor Dill – Good behaviour, good match, good disciplined training on Saturday and another good performance on Sunday earned you this trophy Connor. Well deserved, well done and keep it up.

At the weekend we have Phoenix Lions & Welling Wanderers AWAY at the Marathon Ground. We have played both these teams before and Phoenix Lions for one will not be easy and really gave us a hard time the last time we met.
