Sun 11th Mar – Parkwood Rangers (a)
Lots of footballing action at the weekend, played Welling Wanderers Yellow in a friendly on Saturday in a good game and the boys did very well, especially with all things we were trying out, they not only coped but began to shine as well which is good for the squad as a whole. Very nice to see Aiden Russell back on the scoring sheet again as well. Keep it up Aiden.
Man Of The Match (Contenders):Aiden Russell, Reggie Rye
On Sunday we played Parkwood Rangers in another really good game. The passing and moving was spot on and the whole team worked so well together in the first game, producing possibly the best goal we have scored as a team since we started last year. Aiden Russell picked up the ball from the Connor Dill goal kick who then passed it to James Penn who then passed it to D’Armando who then did a wonderful one two with Harry Diamond receiving the ball back to put the ball in the top left hand corner of the net, very special indeed – very proud of the whole team and reassuring to know that we really can do it when we want to and that all the things we practise are now coming out in the games.
Really nice to see them all trying to head the ball into the back of the net from a corner. We have yet to score from a header and I’m really thinking of adding an incentive to the first person that gets a goal from a header as we do such lovely corners it would be nice if we could start capitalising on them a little more. Please let me know what you think.
That said, well done guys, keep it up.
