Goalkeeping

Here at Petts Wood FC, we are very pleased to be able to offer free GoalKeeper coaching every Saturday, this is provided by GK1 Coaching, which is part of ProInfinty Coaching, who run all our holiday courses.

Our two Coaches, Darren Mace and Stewart Copeland, provide a wealth of playing experience and knowledge, and aim to pass this onto our Goalkeepers of the future.

We have 2 sessions every Saturday, at our Barnet Wood Road ground:

Session 1: 9.00am – 10.00am – for children aged 5 to 10 (mini soccer)

Session 2: 10.00am – 11.00am – for children aged 11 upwards (11 a side)

ProInfinity Goalkeeping sessions

OUR AIM – is to coach, develop, educate and inspire the goalkeepers of the future.

HOW WILL WE ACHIEVE THIS? – our coaches have extensive knowledge and over 30 years experience of (playing & coaching), and through our informative coaching sessions we will look to pass on this experience to our ‘up and coming’ & ‘established’ GK’s.

All sessions are held at our state of the art 3G floodlit training facilities in Bromley, Kent which puts our grass root academy at the head of the line for safety and flexibility, with sessions available up until 9pm and in all weather conditions. This flexibility is something our current GK’s appreciate with no rushing to the ground, or hurried sessions due to the fading light which guarantees you always get quality sessions, structured on the safest possible surface to coach our GK’s as their safety is paramount to the our coaches.

At ProInfinity our GK coaching aim is to coach our players in a fun and safe environment. We look to develop GK’s of all abilities and to improve each one using fun, structured sessions. Our approach to GK coaching is if they are not learning in a fun, enjoyable manner then we know the GK’s won’t want to come back for more.

We base or drills and techniques on our 10 point evaluation system.

Our 10 points are:–

  1. The basic start/set position
  2. Basic hand shapes
  3. Footwork
  4. Angles/positioning
  5. Shot stopping/reflexes
  6. Decision making
  7. Distribution(hands and feet)
  8. Communication/organisation
  9. Fitness
  10. Reading the game

At ProInfinity we find by working on, and perfecting all of the above techniques, then our GK’s have all the qualities and skills to make the best of their ability.

So if you feel ProInfinity is for you then please feel free to get in touch to discuss your requirements at darren@proinfinitycoaching.co.uk or visit our website www.proinfinity.co.uk
